Amsterdam, the gorgeous capital city of the Netherlands, is known for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and narrow houses. Just around the corner is the Van Gogh Museum, which houses the world’s largest van Gogh collection. For a more personal look at the life of a 17th century Dutch master artist, visit the Rembrandt House Museum. A historic house and art museum, Rembrandt lived and worked in the house between 1639 and 1656.
